Born and raised in Colorado. Living and loving Montana.
Two languages and cultures have shaped Meara’s character and world-view. Art and music are life-long companions.
Following high school Meara spent a gap-year working with junior high kids - many recent immigrants and refugees - in New Hampshire, and then moved to Missoula, graduating with a degree in Resource Conservation from the University of Montana. Somewhere along the way she was smitten by the organic farming ethic.
Since 2011 Meara has worked on small organic farms in Colorado and Montana. Her interest in growing flowers developed at the Rain Crow farm in Paonia, Colorado; her first independent flower venture - a part-time endeavor - was at the Ploughshare Farm in Moiese, Montana. The 2016 growing season began Meara’s full-time commitment to growing flowers organically in Montana’s Valley of Flowers.
Whenever possible Meara spends time backpacking, backcountry skiing, hanging out and having fun with her partner Travis, and dog Oso.
